welcome my name is John Holliman and I'm the owner of this driving school play easy Park on today's episode is titled how to parallel park many people are afraid of parallel parking but actually with the proper struction parallel parking is one of the easiest things that you can do in all of driving but before you can be good at parallel parking first have to be good at backing up in a straight line alright so whenever you're backing up what are you do is first release your hand brake put the car into reverse then you do what's called a 360-degree check look all around your car before you begin to back as you back up turn your body in the chair put your right arm around the right chair left hand at 12 position on the steering wheel and then you can start backing up a focus on one point directly behind your car you can glance to the front but you must look to the back we like to look where we're going after you get good at backing up in a straight line then you need to get good at pulling over to the curb and stopping within a few centimeters of the curb this will give you the judgment to be excellent in parallel park this procedure would be exactly the same even if you're in between two cars so as you can see parallel parking is very easy to do hey that's why we call it easy part how's your approach that car you want to do your mirror your signal your shoulder check you should be about one meter away from the vehicle and pull up slightly pass put your car into reverse do your 3 recheck and then back up looking out the back window go very slowly back until the rear bumper of your car is slightly past the rear bumper of his car at this play you turn the wheel one full circle to the right that's 360 degree turn no more no less when you do this is the back of your car will start to go deeper into the parking space when the rear right corner of your car gets to be online with the middle of his car you turn the wheel all the way back to the left keep the car I'm very slowly as you do so and remember to look where you're going you should end up with in 30 centimetres of the curb every time you can straighten your wheels as you go back or you can straighten your wheels as you pull check to see if you're on the hill put it in park and set your parking brake and that's it
