Junior League of Murfreesboro
Each year the JLM awards this scholarship to a high school senior woman who is a resident of Rutherford County, accepted to and attending a four year college/university, and exhibits strong leadership through exemplary volunteerism in her school, church, and/or community. The young woman should be entering college in the fall of 2017 and have a 3.25 or higher grade average. The award of $1,500.00 is granted for one semester and is renewable for an additional seven semesters, or a potential total of $12,000. Renewal of this scholarship will be assessed at the end of each semester between the scholarship recipient and the Scholarship Committee. Maintenance of a 3.25 GPA is necessary to continue with the scholarship. Recipients are required to submit grades at the end of each semester.

Innovation J-Camp (MTSU)
This summer camp is a five day workshop held at the Center for Innovation in Media in partnership with the College of Media and Entertainment at Middle Tennessee State University. This camp is for high school students interested in telling stories for mobile, social, digital, and video audiences. The cost is $150. The camp runs from 9 – 4:30pm July 10-14, 2017. Middle Tennessee Network Association MTSU Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to three deserving MTSU bound high school seniors. Academic achievements, financial need, good work ethics, community outreach and the understanding of the value of education will be taken into consideration in awarding these scholarships. Award winners will be required to be in attendance at the Scholarship Banquet which is usually scheduled the Saturday before start for the fall semester. This scholarship application must be postmarked by May 8, 2017. Applications are available in guidance.
Mississippi State University (Summer Program School of Architecture)
The School of Architecture is offering an eight day summer workshop that is intended to answer many of the questions regarding design and architecture as fields of study and as professions. The workshop is June 9-16, 2017. The total cost of the workshop is $595.00 All applications must be received by June 1, 2017. There are limited scholarships available to students who are minority high schools students are who have showed an interest in majoring in architecture. University of Tennessee at Martin
The university will be awarding three $1000 scholarships to incoming freshman for the fall who declare Communications as their major. The deadline for UTM receiving this scholarship is 5pm Monday March 27th. Applications will be in guidance. If students run low on time they are encourages to fax the application to meet the deadline.

Taco Bell Scholarship
This Scholarship is available for legal residents of the US who are between 16 -24 yrs old and planning to enroll in post secondary schools (tech, 2 yr, 4 yr) Go to Taco Bell Foundation’s Live Mas Scholarship website for more details. The deadline is May 12, 2017. This scholarship is not based on grades or test scores. Students will submit a short video about their life’s passion on the application website.
Nissan Summer Engineering Program
This is a hands on learning experience for sophomores and juniors in area high schools. Program participants will meet for four Saturdays - May 27-June 17 from 9-12:30 at Nissan in Smyrna. Tennessee Technological University
The TN Tech Army ROTC is offering a scholarship opportunity to interested students. Students must have a core GPA of 2.75 or better. There is no military commitment however, students must be willing to enroll and take basic ROTC curriculum courses each semester to maintain eligibility. University of Tennessee at Knoxville
UTK will be sponsoring a summer engineering program for rising 9-12 grade students during the summer of 2017. Each program is a one week residential program. All 9 th graders must have taken a standardized test such as the ACT, PSAT, or SAT. All 10th & 11th graders must have a minimum math score of 25 on the ACT to be considered. Middle Tennessee State University
The Murfreesboro Credit Bureau has established a scholarship available to residents of Rutherford County who are entering freshman at MTSU. To be considered for the scholarship students must: pursue a major in the College of Business, satisfy admission requirements for MTSU, be a resident of Rutherford County for at least a year, possess a proven academic record, and demonstrate good moral character. The student will be required to reapply for this scholarship each year and renewal will be based on academic performance in the College of Business. Alpha Kappa Alpha
This scholarship is sponsored by the PI NU chapter of the AKA sorority. Applicants must be an African American student (male or female), be enrolled as a senior in a Rutherford County high school, have a GPA of at least a 3.0, score at least a 21 on the ACT, plan to attend a 4 year college, and sumit a recent headshot photo with their application. The applicant must submit a typed application, an official high school transcript with ACT scores, two typed letters of recommendation (sealed), a typed essay addressing one of the 2017 topics, and a school counselor evaluation form. Regions Hampton Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students who are a high school senior, residents of Tennessee, have financial need, and plan to attend a tech/2yr/4yr school on a full time basis. Better Business Bureau (Student of Integrity)
This award is open to qualified JUNIOR students. This program recognizes high school students who personify the principles of ethical business such as: trust, fairness, leadership, community service, academic integrity, humility, courage, compassion, and respect. One student can be nominated from Siegel High. Please see a business teacher if you are interested and they will go through the applicants. Scholarships will be awarded to recipients at the high school in the Fall of the Senior Year. The deadline is March 17, 2017.
The National Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have many scholarships listed on their website in areas such as History/Government/Economics, Math, Science, English, & Medical/Nursing. Scope (Student Congress on Policies in Education)
This program will be held March 7. This program is a conference for 9-12th grade students from across the state to discuss current topics in education. Participants will explore education issues through mock school board meetings, group discussions, and debates with their peers. Two delegates can be sent by Siegel High. Please let your counselor know as soon as possible that you wish to be nominated to attend. The deadline is February 21, 2017. The registration fee is $60.
MTSU Honors Open House 2017
MTSU will be holding an open house for their honors college on February 20, 2017. Go to www.mtsu.edu/rsvp to register. The program will run from 10:30 until 12:15 with optional program from 12:30-4. Sigma Gamma Rho Scholarship (Nashville, Tn)
This scholarship is available to graduating senior students who have obtained high scholastic achievement as well as accomplishments in community, high school, and church activities. The deadline is March 15, 2017.
Sigma Gamma Rho (National) Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded based on the following: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority National Education Fund, Inc., was established to provide scholarship aid to student, both male and female of all races for the pursuit of high education. Student Insights is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. This program consist of one $4000, two $1000, and ten $500 scholarships. Dorothy L. Stevens Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by the Rutherford County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta. The criteria for consideration for this scholarship include: a completed application packet, Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher, a composite score of 22 or higher on the ACT, two letters of recommendation from people in the community that you know well, a recommendation letter by a teacher or former teacher, applicant must be a female senior of African American Descent, and have an official transcript sent by your counselor postmarked by March 31, 2017. Tommy Burks Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students who have a genuine interest in cattle production and agriculture. The scholarship winner will receive a total of $2000. Each candidate must have a proven interest in pure bred cattle production, must exhibit satisfactory academic performance in current scholastic pursuits, and be a US citizen. The Upper Cumberland Angus Association Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship winners based on 25% Scholastic Achievement and Academic Potential, 25% Livestock Activities, 25% Community Involvement through Leadership Positions/memberships, and 25 % three letters of reference.
