What is National Beta Club?
National Beta Club Mission Statement
To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Purpose of National Beta Club
The purpose of this organization is to promote the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students; to reward meritorious academic achievement; and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.
Who qualifies for membership in Siegel's BETA CLUB?
Are you a go-getter who loves to be involved in your school and community? If so, Siegel Beta wants you!!!
The qualifications for membership on the part of the student shall be: (a) a high school student in grades 9-12, (b) worthy, moral and ethical character, (c) good mentality (d) creditable achievement (GPA of 3.5 or higher for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders), (e) commendable attitude. Freshman who were a part of Beta during their 8th grade year are eligible for early admission to the Siegel club during the fall semester. Freshmen who have earned a 3.5 the first semester are eligible to join during the month of January. February is induction month for all new members for the current school year.
Are there any dues/payments?
There is a fee of $50.00 collected to be a member of the club/prior to induction. This includes $32 national dues.
Application (January only):
If you feel your character is in good standing, your academic record is 3.5+, you are a 9th OR 10th OR 11th grader, you can fulfill Beta Club participation and community service requirements, please complete the paperwork and return to the library according to the date printed on the application packet.
How will I know I have been accepted into the Beta Club?
If all required fees and paperwork is completed and a Remind invitation has been sent, you will know your membership is official.
You will be required to complete 20 points for Beta, which includes service within our club's service, per school year in order to remain in the club. We recommend that you begin earning service hours the summer after you have been accepted into the club by checking the Beta Twitter feed (@SiegelBeta) and/or Remind messages for club opportunities. Points will be collected via sign-in sheets at any Beta events held. If, as a member, you do not meet your 10 required points each semester of your membership, you will be removed from both Siegel and National Beta Club rosters. In order to earn a cord for graduation, starting with the class of 2027, students must have been a member of Beta Club all four years of high school and completed their required 70 hours.
