This approach helps them analyze the impact of authors' choices on literary elements and broader American history.
 
This class emphasizes the development of critical thinking and communication skills, with a particular focus on literary analysis and the connection between literature and American history. Writing assignments will include analytical essays, argumentative pieces, and research papers, which require students to utilize evidence from the texts to support their claims and ideas.

Mythology

The mythology curriculum explores diverse myths and legends from various cultures, focusing on their historical context, literary elements, and cultural impact. Students learn to analyze themes, characters, and symbols, and to connect these ancient stories to contemporary literature, art, and even societal issues. The curriculum includes Asian, Greek, Norse, Roman, and Celtic mythologies, among others, with a focus on how these myths influenced each other and continue to resonate today. Supplemental novels and materials will come from multiple resources.
