ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP - This scholarship sponsored by the Elks National Foundation is available to any high school senior who is a US citizen. Applications will be judged based on scholarship, leadership, & financial need. The application is online go to enf.elks.org/mvs for more details.

 

ELKS TRADE SCHOLARSHIP - This scholarship sponsored by the Elks National Foundation is open to graduating senior who will be pursuing a trade or certificate program. Go to tnelks.org for more details.

 

ELKS NURSING SCHOLASHIP - This scholarship sponsored by the Elks National Foundation is open to all students planning to major in nursing in TN. This is an effort to bridge the critical shortage of nurses in TN. Contact your local Elks Lodge or go to tnelks.org to apply.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award - Students in 9th – 12th grades & US Citizens, have engaged in volunteer activities that occurred after September 1, 2017, and completes an application and submits it to a school principal or counselor by November 6, 2018 are eligible. These applications are available at spirit.prudential.com or nassp.org/spirit.

 

FIDM National Scholarship Competition - These scholarships are available to students interested in Fashion, Visual Arts, Graphics, Interior Design, Social Media & Entertainment. There will be 8 scholarships for students wishing to attend the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in the following majors: Apparel Industry Management, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Merchandise Product Development, Visual Communications, Beauty Marketing & Product Development, Graphic Design, Merchandising & Marketing, & Social Media. WENDY’S HEISMAN SCHOLARSHIP - This scholarship is open to scholar athletes. Please see your counselor if you wish to be referred. Students can apply at wendyhesiman.com

 

QUESTBRIDGE COLLEGE MATCH - This program is open to high achieving low income students. This program can potentially offer four year scholarships to 40 of the nation’s best colleges. Please see your counselor if you wish to be referred for this program. You can also apply online at www.questbridge.org. The deadline date for the free online application is September 27, 2018.

 

MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY - Fall preview days will be held on October 8th, October 29th, and November 12th for this school. Scholars Recognition days are October 15, November 5, & November 19, 2018 students must have a 30+ ACT score to attend this program. Invitations will be mailed to these students. Registration will open September 6, 2018. Go to previewday.msstate.edu to sign up. Mississippi State is now a part of the COMMON APPLICATION program. This application will open September 1, 2018. The Academic Excellence opportunities for freshman nonresident students at MSU are as follows: ACT 22-23 & 3.5 GPA $8000, 24 ACT,& 3.0-3.49 $6000 & 3.5+ GPA 9,000, 25 ACT & 3.0-3.49 GPA $7000 & 3.5+GPA $9000, 26-29 ACT & 3.0+ GPA $12,500, 30-32 ACT & 3.0+ GPA $14000 & 33-36 ACT & a 3.0+GPA $20000. Colvard Future Leader Scholarships are also available in addition to the Academic Excellence Awards for qualified freshman students requirements include: a 3.5 GPA or higher GPA required along with 26 ACT $1000, 27-29 ACT $1500, 30-32 ACT $2000, & 33-36 ACT $2500.

UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT MARTIN - Admission requirements are a 19 ACT & a 3.0 GPA or a 21 ACT & a 2.7 GPA. There is a $30 application free. The deadline is February 1st. During September 17, 18, 19 the application fee will be waived for college application week. UTM superscores the ACT.

 

Incoming Freshmen, Four-Year Merit Scholarships

 

University Scholars Program

* $2,500 per year for four years, plus a qualifying merit scholarship

* Qualifying criteria: 28 ACT/3.5 GPA

* Selective scholarship

* Thirty students selected by program directors are allowed into the program each year with a maximum of 120 students in the program at one time

* Continuation requirements: must have a 3.3 GPA at the end of spring semester; participate in a special ten-semester hour curriculum for University Scholar students; and be active in extra-curricular activities including group community service, cultural activities, and service to the student organization.

* Students who successfully complete the program graduate with the distinction of "University Scholar"

Chancellor Scholarship

* $3,000 per year/$12,000 for four years

* Average academic criteria: ACT 29/Average GPA 3.90 (The qualifying academic criteria used to award this scholarship is based on a combination of the ACT score and high school GPA)

* Continuation requirements: 3.2 GPA at the end of each spring semester, remain a full-time student

* Recipients are eligible to enroll in Honors courses

* Out-of-state students will also receive a waiver to cover out-of-state fees (additional estimated value: $5,760 per year/$23,040 for four years)

Dean Scholarship

* $2,000 per year /$8,000 for four years

* Average academic criteria: ACT 26/Average GPA 3.85 (The qualifying academic criteria used to award this scholarship is based on a combination of the ACT score and high school GPA)

* Continuation requirements: 3.0 at the end of each spring semester, remain a full-time student

* Out-of-state students who qualify for the Dean Scholarship will also receive the Explorer Out-of-State Scholarship

Excellence Scholarship

* $1,000 per year /$4,000 for four years

* Average academic criteria: ACT 24/Average GPA 3.80 (The qualifying academic criteria used to award this scholarship is based on a combination of the ACT score and high school GPA)

* Continuation requirements: 3.0 GPA at the end of each spring semester, remain a full time student

* Must be classified as an in-state student

Advance Scholarship

* $750 per year /$3,000 for four years

* Must be classified as an in-state student

Achieve Scholarship

* $500 per year /$2,000 for four years

* Average academic criteria: ACT 21/Average GPA 3.20 (The qualifying academic criteria used to award this scholarship is based on a combination of the ACT score and high school GPA)

* Continuation requirements: 2.75 GPA at the end of each spring semester, remain a full time student

* Must be classified as an in-state student

Harold Conner Scholarship

* $2,000 per year/$8,000 for four years

* Selective scholarship

* To be considered, students must have a minimum ACT of 21 and a 3.25 high school grade point average

* Continuation requirements: must have 3.0 GPA at the end of each spring semester, remain a full-time student

* Awards will be made on the basis of the high school academic and leadership record and ACT score

* Must be classified as an in-state student

* Preference will be given to students from underrepresented groups.

The Scholarship Aviator will show Donor & Departmental scholarships as well as the above merit based scholarships. This will open on October 1st. Your applications is the only application that you will need for merit based. The Honors programs deadline is November 1st. Preview days will be October 6 & November 10, 2018. UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA – Admission to UTC is automatic with a 2.85 GPA & 18 ACT or a 2.5 GPA & 21 ACT. September 27, 2018 UTC will be at the Embassy Suites from 4:30-7:30 to admit students on the spot with a transcript & test scores. The fee will be waived that night but you must apply no later than 48 hrs previously. Go to www.utc.edu/admissions to apply the fee is normally $30. Apply early awards start in November and continue until money is exhausted however the priority deadline is December 1, 2018. Official awards can be accepted online. November 1st housing will open. To set up a visit go to www.utc.edu/visit. October 20, 2018 will be a weekend that students can visit and receive departmental tours. Blue & Gold Preview Day is November 3, 2018. Application fees will be waived on campus that weekend when applying.

 

Students must fill out a separate application for scholarships. Scholarship applications for admitted students open September 1, 2018.

CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP 3.75 GPA & 29 ACT $9500

PROVOST SCHOLARSHIP - 3.4 GPA & 25 ACT $7500

MOCS SCHOLARSHIP - 3.2 GPA & 22 ACT $6500

CHATTANOOGA YES – 3.0 GPA & 19 ACT MUST DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED

Last day for online scholarship application is January 10th, 2019.

 

UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE KNOXVILLE - You can apply through the common application or go to vip.utk.edu to apply. Students will need one required essay, a personal statement (not required but recommended) & high school transcript with test scores. Students will also need an academic recommendation for competitive scholarships and the Honors program. UTK does superscore the ACT and weights your GPA. There are separate admittance requirements for the following academic majors: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Nursing, Engineering, and Music.

 

The application deadline for UTK is November 1, 2018. Students who wish to apply for scholarships should apply early because you must invited to join the Honors program or for competitive scholarships. The deadline for these scholarships is December 15, 2018. UTK will take the December ACT score for the Volunteer Scholarship which is the main freshman scholarship. May 1st , 2018 is when enrollment confirmation at UTK will be required. There are four honors programs at UTK: the 1794 program, Honors Leadership, Chancellor’s Honors and Haslam Scholars program go to https://honors.utk.edu/ for more information.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY COLLEGE NIGHT – This is an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from approximately 50 colleges and universities from across TN and the southeastern US. UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA - The following scholarships are available to out of state students at UA. The Capstone scholarship is available to students with a 27 ACT and a 3.5 GPA $6000/per yr. The Collegiate scholarship is available to students with a 28 ACT and a 3.5 GPA $8000/per yr. The Foundation in Excellence scholarship is available to students with a 29 ACT and a 3.5 GPA $15000/per yr. The UA Scholar is available to students 30-31 ACT and at least a 3.5 GPA will be named a UA scholars and will receive $20000/per yr. The Presidential scholarship is available to students with a 32-36 ACT and at least a 3.5 GPA will receive $26000/per yr. The Presidential Elite is a scholarship for students with a 4.0 GPA and a 36 ACT will receive the value of tuition for four years, one year of oncampus housing at regular room rate, $1000 stipend for four years, $2000 allowance for use in summer research or international study, and a $2000 Super Store book scholarship. The National Merit Finalist package contains a package of the value of tuition for up to 5 years, four years of undergraduate housing at regular room rate, $3500 per year stipend for four years, one time allowance of $2000 for use in summer research or international study, and a $2000 Super Store book scholarship.

This could be a benefit to students interested in government and politics or broadening their professional skill sets. Scholarship for Veterinary Medicine – This scholarship is through K9 Carts a company that creates wheelchairs for handicapped dogs & cats worldwide. This is a $1000 scholarship for students wanting to enter the field of veterinary medicine. Students must have a 2.5 GPA, senior in high school, application deadline is August 31, 2018. Kids Chance of Tennessee - This program awards scholarships to applicants who have had a parent suffer a catastrophic, permanently disabled or fatal injury covered by the TN Workers’ Compensation Act. Applicants must be a resident of TN, applicants must have a parent who suffered such an injury, the applicant can’t be less than 16 years of age, the injury or death must have resulted in a decrease in family earnings, applicant must show academic achievement and aptitude, and the applicant must demonstrate financial need. University of Tennessee Knoxville - This scholarship is sponsored by Sigma Phi Epsilon at UTK. The Balanced Man scholarship award seven awards of up to $2000 for male students committed to Academic Excellence, Leadership & Service, Impacting their Community, & Pursuing Sound Mind & Body. Murray Thomas Miles Jr. Scholarship – This scholarship of $2500will be awarded to a Rutherford County student majoring in any of the emphasis areas of Agriculture, who is a Rutherford county resident and whose parents/guardians are a member of the Rutherford County Farm Bureau. The student must begin in the fall semester of 2018 and will be awarded another $2500 at the completion of the first semester of college with a 2.5 or above GPA and is registered as a fulltime student in the Spring Semester 2019. The application (which is available in guidance), a cover letter stating your career plans, and how they align with the Murray Miles life and career, two letters of recommendation, an ACT score and a transcript of grades including GPA with proof of enrollment for the Fall of 2018, and a a 2 by 3 size color photo must be included in the application which is due to the Farm Bureau office at 818 S Church ST Murfreesboro, TN 37128 or postmarked by June 30, 2018.99999
