Tennessee Promise

Need help filling out the FAFSA?
 
We will have assistance available for parents and students January 9 from 8:30-2:00 at Seigel High School. Any Siegel High School student and their parents are welcome to attend. Please call a counselor for more information.
 
What should I bring to FAFSA Frenzy?
 

Students and their parents should bring (if available):

  • 2016 Federal Tax Return or other income documentation
  • Social Security number(s)
  • Driver’s license (if any)
  • 2016 W-2 Forms or year-end pay stubs and other year-end records of money received
  • 2016 untaxed income records, such as child support received and veterans noneducation benefits
  • Current information on checking and savings account balances; stock, bond, and other investments; and business and farm assets
  • Your alien registration card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
  • Student and parent FSA IDs to sign the FAFSA. (Apply for your FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov.)

***This information is helpful to complete the FAFSA, but not required to attend the TN FAFSA Frenzy event.

 Events:

Mandatory Tennessee Promise Meetings
  1. November 1 is the deadline to complete the Tennessee Promise application
  2. First mandatory meeting: October 12 at 11:00 am in auditorium
  3. Second mandatory meeting: March 16 at 5:30 pm in cafeteria
TN Promise Application Deadline is November 1 - Apply Now
 

Student Checklist:

By November 1, 2016 Apply to the Tennessee Promise program. A local partnering organization will contact you to help you complete your requirements.
By January 17, 2017 File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on www.fafsa.go.
During Fall and Spring Attend first mandatory meeting coordinated by partnering organization.
Find your meeting date by high school
During Spring 2017 Attend second mandatory meeting coordinated by partnering organization.
Find your meeting date by high school
During Spring 2017 Apply to a community or technical college.
By July 1, 2017 Complete FAFSA verification, if required by your institution.
By Aug. 1, 2017 Complete your first 8 hours of community service.
